MATCH List

The MATCH List, formerly known as the Terminated Merchant File (TMF), is a registry maintained by card networks, including Mastercard, identifying merchants whose accounts have been terminated due to various reasons, such as excessive fraud, chargebacks, bankruptcy, or involvement in illegal activities. Merchants listed on MATCH often encounter challenges in opening new merchant accounts and may face higher processing fees.

Additionally, they may be required to maintain elevated account reserves as a risk mitigation measure. Being listed on MATCH serves as a red flag to acquiring banks and payment processors, signaling potential risks associated with the merchant’s business operations.
