Disputed Transaction

A disputed transaction refers to a debit or credit card transaction that the cardholder contests as unauthorized, fraudulent, incomplete, or otherwise erroneous.

When a transaction is disputed, the cardholder’s issuing bank may authorize a chargeback, reclaiming funds from the merchant and crediting them back to the cardholder’s account.
